Mo bros raise money for charity

24 Nov 2019 by Michael Philp

Past and present Curtin University Football Club players came together for a charity match in name of raising awareness of men’s health. The month formerly known as November, now Movember has seen a group of CUFC players form a team ‘Classic Curtin’ with intention of raising money and awareness for mental health, testicular cancer, and prostrate cancer. CUFC alumni – David Cantoni, Adrian Cinnani, Joel Woods, Bryan Bourke, Aaron Robbins, and Mick Philp have currently raised $2280 for the Movember Foundation, while sporting dodgy upper lip hair, variously known as caterpillars, flavour savours, lip warmers, lip toupees, or a crumb catcher.

The charity match was a great success, with a bake sale of delicious mustache inspired treats, bringing together old and new friends, and raising over $800. Key organiser Mick Philp spoke of the importance of checking in with your mates, and regular health checks. For the record, the young guns ran out comfortable winners over the Curtin Legends.
