ABOUT KICK-OFF
Our U5-7's MiniRoos Kick-Off programs are designed for girls and boys born in the ranges below:
Program year |
2023 |
Boys born in | 2016 - 2018 |
Girls born in | 2014 - 2018 |
The program focuses on short, game-based sessions to introduce football to newcomers in a fun and inclusive way. We create an environment that is fun, engaging, and inclusive and focuses on enjoyment rather than results as the more fun kids have, the more likely they are to continue playing.
Our MiniRoos Kick-Off program is about having fun playing football and developing fundamental skills with friendly games and mixed 4v4 or 5v5 games.
Direct technical coaching is not the aim of the sessions. Rather, we aim to develop motor coordination and basic skills implicitly through a 'deliberate play' approach. Deliberate play refers to the use of enjoyable, interactive games that bring about physical, technical and social skills without player awareness.
This program provides a platform for continued engagement in club football at higher levels and age groups, providing a reasonably seamless path to U8 and beyond.
We've even been featured on Football West's "Football 360" program!
