Curtin Academy welcomes players from all football clubs

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This is the primary program of Curtin Academy. Our Development Program aka Skill Acquisition Program is targeted towards players who consistently demonstrate high levels of commitment, have a positive 'Growth Mindset' and are keen to learn new skills.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We recognise that there are many reasons parents choose football for their children as the preferred sport. For some it’s all about the health and well-being, for others is the social benefits of playing in a team sport which is appealing, for handful its because of the school friends or peers; several might prefer football because unlike Aussie rule and Rugby, it’s a physical sport and yet non-combative; for many it’s just another sport which keeps the kids healthy and away from devices. For a selective proportion however, football is the sport of choice, it’s all about passion. "This is where we focus our energy …to develop players so they become a more effective player" Explains Payam Golestani who founded Curtin Academy. "However regardless of your motives we recognise skilful players are often those players who are also technically more advanced, so we are focusing on improving player’s individual technical abilities through range of drills, activities and exercises which aims to improve player’s overall skills in a way that is financially viable for parents and the cost is no longer a prohibitive factor for families".

COACHING METHODOLOGY

To realize the above ambition we looked far and wide to partner up with coaching professionals who also shared our belief in making junior development more accessible to families. We discovered Elite Performance WA, the former Perth Franchise operators of Coerver ® Coaching as they are known then, and developed programs which in part created the platform which our Academy is founded upon. “Elite Performance WA a private football consultancy who specialise in bespoke training programs for football clubs, schools and individual players of all ages, both male and female” Says Rob McCullagh, Managing Director of Elite Performance WA: “Our time with Coerver was an invaluable learning experience for all our team and we certainly draw from this experience, along with our own and other influences, when we develop our programs. After a time though, the franchise business model with its revenue targets and relative inflexibility, was not giving us what we wanted as a business, which is essentially the ability to deliver customer specific outcomes with customers we choose to work with. we pride ourselves on our integrity and professionalism and for this reason, we are proud to work with Curtin University Football Club on developing their academy, which is purely focused on player development and none of the other distractions or dream selling you see out there. We look forward to continuing this relationship into the future. Elite Performance WA does not need to be the biggest private coaching operation, will happily walk away from clubs or clients who don’t share these values."

Anthony Benetti, the head coach at the Academy explains:

" Our Coaching is endorsed by some of the most influential coaches, players, clubs and federations in football world and is considered by many to be the number 1 skills training method in the world. Drills and games are taken from the world renowned Pyramid of Player Development curriculum focusing on areas such as Ball Mastery, Receiving and Passing, Speed (with and without the ball, Moves (1v1) finishing and small group play. Our coaching looks to build a solid foundation of confidence on the ball in a fun and safe environment"

ENROLMENT & FEES

Enrolment is open to players registered on www.playfootball.com.au with CUFC and other clubs.

To enrol:

1. Join us on TeamApp (details below) access group "Parents - Curtin Academy".

2. Purchase an enrolment ticket under TICKETS & PAYMENTS on our app or website.
