Programs - Futsal Performance Program (FPP) Updated!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Futsal Performance Program ("FPP") is one of our core programs offered through Curtin Academy which is targeted towards players who consistently demonstrate high levels of commitment, have a positive 'Growth Mindset' and are keen to learn new skills. Our FPP runs throughout the year and comprises of two main components:

Game Based Component, which runs during each school term and aims to improve players skills and ability through actual Futsal match experience. There will be limited coaching as the focus is on maximising playing time.

Futsal Clinics, which run during the school holidays and the Summer break: the sessions are delivered by professional Futsal coaches and are intended to improve player skills and ability by focusing on players’ technical knowledge and tactical performance. The sessions are intended to develop the players for inclusion into State’s Futsal League (“SFL”) and to create better football players as the skill sets acquired by the Futsal players are directly transferable from indoor courts to the outdoor fields.

Although both components are complimentary, they are mutually exclusive. It is highly recommended for committed Futsal/football players to take part and participate in as many clinics as they can, while they are afforded the opportunity to do so, as we expect the programs to be oversubscribed due to limitation on the placements.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We recognise that there are many reasons parents choose Football or relevantly Futsal  for their children as the preferred sport. For some it’s all about the health and well-being, for others it is the social benefits of playing in a team sport which is appealing. Several might prefer football/futsal because unlike Aussie Rules and Rugby, it is a physical sport and yet non-combative; for many it’s just another sport which keeps the kids healthy and away from devices. For a selective proportion however, football/futsal is the sport of choice, it’s all about passion. "This is where we focus our energyto develop players so they become a more effective player" Explains Payam Golestani who founded Curtin Academy. "However regardless of your motives we recognise skillful players are often those players who are also technically more advanced, so we are focusing on improving player’s individual technical abilities through range of drills, activities and exercises which aims to improve player’s overall skills in a way that is financially viable for parents and the cost is no longer a prohibitive factor for families".
